Update 9/19/06 In mid-September, the SHAC 7 defendants were each sentenced to serve prison sentences of various lengths as follows: The corporate defendant, SHAC USA, was sentenced to five years of probation. Additionally, the defendants were ordered to pay $1,000,001.00 in restitution. After they are released from prison, the defendants will be on supervised release for three years, subject to various conditions including regular reports to the probation office, allowing recording equipment to be placed on their computers, and they are prohibited from incurring any additional debt. These sentences are significantly lower than the sentences calculated by the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, which placed Lauren, Kevin, and Jake at sentences ranging from 9-13 years.
